A Funny Thing Happen
on the Way to
Cast My Ballot
I was intending to cast my Ballot for the upcoming Election in Person on August 26th. But my wife Mariette is a real stickler and insisted that I mail it in after she read the instructions on the ballot. So I spend 33 minutes driving to the address on the instruction: the “Yorba Linda Post Office at 4470 Eureka Avenue” on Auigust 24th the last day for the ballot to be received.
No Such Address
But arriving there, there was no such address. The address that Powerstone had printed on the ballots was wrong. The Yorba Linda Post Office address is actually 4770 Eureka Avenue. No problem, I would drop it off there.
At the Real Post Office
As I was about to drop it off, I asked the postal worker to make sure as per the Powerstone instruction that this would be receive by “Our Inspector of Elections (who is Majority Rule)” by 5pm today August 24th. He pointed out that the address on the envelope is a “care of” address to Powerstone in Irvine . The Yorba Linda Post Office would sent my Ballot to Irvine and then he assumed that Powerstone would transfer it to their envelop to send it back to this Post Office where it would be deliver to Majority Rule at 6613 Vista Loma.
Gave Up!!!!
This mail transfer between Yorba Linda and Irvine would probably take at least two days so my envelope would arrive at the earliest August 26th. I decided to forget the whole thing and returned home with my balot. I will now submit my Ballot in pertson on August 26th Annual Meeting as we have normally done for Harbour Vista elections.
Still Confused
Yet what is confusing, is that there is nothing in Powerstone's Election Instructions that says that Majority Rule will open the polls at 6PM (or 6:15PM) to submit ballots as was the case of last year’s election. ■
